ToggleWHAT HAPPENED?
The Red Dragons snapped up 29-year-old frontman Marriott at the end of the winter window, with the former Derby and Peterborough star boasting plenty of Football League experience. He was, however, to register just one goal through 17 appearances as Wrexham secured promotion out of League Two.

WHAT PARKINSON SAID
Marriott is already up and running in League One, with an opening day worldie recorded against Wycombe, and Phil Parkinson has said of a house move helping the forward to feel more settled: “Jack has got good pedigree. He has scored goals in the Championship and at the top end of this division. He has moved into the area now which is great. We have got him settled, where we want him, so we can really work with him. He is not travelling too much.”

THE BIGGER PICTURE
Veteran striker Steven Fletcher was also on target for Wrexham in their 3-2 win over Wycombe, with the 37-year-old joining an elite group of players to have scored at all four levels of the EFL. Parkinson added on having the ex-Scotland international around: “Fletch has missed a bit of pre-season because his groin tightened up in San Francisco. He has only trained two days, but in those two days he has shown what he is all about. He is a maestro, he really is. What a player to come off the bench.”

WHAT NEXT FOR WREXHAM?
Wrexham are looking for others to step up during the ongoing surgery-enforced absence of star striker Paul Mullin. He is working his way back towards full fitness, with the Red Dragons set to be back in action on Tuesday when facing Sheffield United in the Carabao Cup first round.
